Healthy Habits to include on your daily routine
I was recently surprised by a post on my social media feed where they asked me to name 3 of my daily healthy habits… It took me more than I wanted to find the answer to this question and I got really annoyed about that. I thought I had my healthy lifestyle all figured out and I was sure I was doing GREAT. But after thinking over my daily healthy habits, I realised that I know what healthy is but I don’t necessarily apply it to my life with enough consistency.
After that stressing Instagram post, I decided I had to change, so I adopted three daily habits and I am already starting to see the benefits. I have been very consistent with my morning meditations, I am consciously including more veggies into my day and I am reading everyday at least 10 pages of my selected book. Benefits ? Ohh yesssss …. Doing a short meditation before everybody wakes up at the house puts my mind on a happy and relaxed place to better kick-off my day. As for the veggies, I have been amazed by how much my level of energy has been increasing since I started a more plant-based diet. And finally, reading the books that have been seating on my bedside table for months have been so enjoyable and enriching.
So, I thought it could be helpful for you if I gave you different healthy habits ideas that are easy to include on your daily routine. I definitively recommend for anyone to give themselves the chance to experience the benefits that come with healthy habits. Whether some of these are new to you or perhaps they are just a revisit for you, give them a go… Choose at least three of them, do them daily for the next 30 days and let me know how you are feeling.
My tips for you:
Create a night time routine (tea before bed; away from electronics at least one hour before sleeping).
Do exercise (pilates, walk , run, swim, etc.); anything that makes you breath deeply definitively counts.
Choose to eat more veggies and fruit on your day.
Meditate. It doesn’t have to be hard to set your mind still for few minutes. You can just breath deeply for 5 min or follow any guided meditation on YouTube. You can also download amazing apps like Calm or Headspace.
Drink one big glass of water first thing in the morning (yes, ‘first thing’ means before coffee!)
Drink at least 3 Its of water per day. If you don’t like plain water you can have herbal teas, just make sure you don’t use tons of sugar on your tea.
Do something that gives you JOY everyday. Don’t let one day pass by without having a happy moment on it. You must look for that moment, don’t wait for somebody else to give you happiness.
Start your own gratitude journal. Write down each day three things that you are grateful for. It could be before going to bed or first thing in the morning.
Read everyday some pages of a book of your choice.
Turn OFF the TV while eating. Create a nice space for your meals and enjoy each bite.
I know there are tons of other healthy habits that we could include on our daily routine but these are some basic and not so complicated ones. There are several studies that shows that creating healthy habits can certainly helps us to improve our general wellbeing. Enjoy and don’t forget to get back to me after 30 days and share with me your experience.
